Watford Rotary celebrated its 90th Anniversary on 30th April with a dinner in the welcoming setting of West Herts Golf Club. The club was chartered on 16th February 1924. There was a display of memorabilia from the Watford club and some of the clubs Watford had sponsored. There was also a continuous display of photographs from past club events on a big screen.
After a welcome drink the some 118 Rotarians and guests sat down to an excellent three course dinner. President Sue Clark introduced her guests - Mayor of Watford, Dorothy Thornhill, MP for Watford, Richard Harrington, President of Rotary GB&I, Nan McCreadie, District Governor, Gavin Plews and President of the Rotary Club of Nancy Majorelle, Rodolphe Vilair.
Master of ceremonies Rotarian Robin Gain welcomed Rotarians from the many Rotary Clubs represented - Amersham, Ampthill & District, Budapest, Chesham, Feltham, Great Missenden, Hemel Hempstead, Hitchin, Luton North, Luton Someries, Nancy Majorelle, Newport Pagnell, St Albans Priory, Stevenage, Ware, Wendover and North Watford Inner Wheel.
