World Polio Week - collection at Tesco

Tue, Oct 24th 2023 at 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

A team of plucky Rotarians went out to collect funds in aid of eradicating Polio, which has been at the core of Rotary for many years

A note on this from Newbury Rotary President, Janet Lister:

Well, it has been a lovely sunny day and I think we did quite well at Tesco’s –  ‘Anything is more than nothing’!

A very big THANK YOU to our team today – Irene, Stuart, Jacquy, Gerry and Geoff – your time was very much appreciated.

We raised the sum of £46.26 increased by the sum £10 put in by Chris Bartlam who picked today to go shopping……….and was duly greeted at the door!

We  arranged the collection from 10am – 2pm, so that was not bad. We have another event coming up in December, where we will have Christmas music playing as well.

We also gave out leaflets for the Santa Fun Run, and we raised the profile of End Polio now and Rotary – not bad at all.

Thank you team once again!
