Community Service

Newbury Rotary Club supports and organises a variety of community activities for all ages

Service defines Rotary's character

Service lies at the heart of Rotary. Whether delivered locally or internationally, it defines Rotary’s character, enhances its visibility, and is a key reason the organisation continues to grow.

Rotarians are passionate about the communities in which they live and work, and at Newbury Rotary Club that commitment is reflected in everything we do. We focus on supporting both national and local charities, as well as community groups and projects. Our support can take many forms – from financial assistance and hands‑on practical help, to sharing experience, offering advice, or simply connecting the right people.

We are also always keen to hear new ideas on how we can further support our local community and welcome suggestions for projects, partnerships, or initiatives where we can make a positive difference.

Some of our regular community events include:

  • Volunteer Fair at the Corn Exchange, Newbury
  • Stroke Awareness & Blood Pressure Testing at Newbury Town Hall
  • Community Clean Up activities across Newbury
  • Mayor’s Variety Concert at the Corn Exchange
  • Community Group Barge Trips

Newbury Rotary Club works closely with other local community organisations and partners to strengthen and extend community support activities.

In addition, our members regularly provide help, marshals, and resources for a wide range of other community events and projects, including:

  • Newbury Lions Firework Display
  • Newbury Lions Santa Parade
  • Remembrance Sunday wreath laying and parade
  • Royal Engineers Parade
  • Newbury Weekly News Over 80s Parcel Fund – collection and distribution
