This evening was jointly organised by Ampthill & District Inner Wheel and ourselves to have some fun together and also give us all the opportunity to find out more about the other wonderful organisations in our community. We hope that, having met, we can continue to consider ways to help one another. We had the pleasure of the company of representatives from Mind, the Brownies, Ampthill Community Safety Group, Kings Arms Path Gardens, Time Bank, the Mayor and Deputy Mayor, Ampthill Cricket Club, the Art Society, The Firs PTA, Clophill Eco Lodges, Maulden Players, the RNLI and parents of the members of the band and many other guests.
We were royally entertained by Redborne Jazz Band. So much so, that some of our members and their guests couldn't be restrained from dancing!
Between the music sets we heard about some of the charities being supported by both our clubs this year - Jigsaw Club, NSPCC and Hospice at Home. And we were treated to a fabulous 2 course meal prepared for us by the ladies of Inner Wheel and their friends. What's more, of course there was a raffle with fabulous prizes, but even better there were spot prizes. These included a remarkable opportunity for 10 people to go paintballing and another opportunity to be chauffeur driven in a 1932 Austin 7 to name just two.
The event was sponsored by local businesses including Dew Drop Inn, Studio Upstairs, Waitrose, Bradleys, The Deming Transformation Forum, Vigor Homes, Change Leadership (UK) Ltd, Fratelli, Delta Force and Fiona Gray Financial Planning Ltd. Our thanks go to them for their support.
