International Service

Trade Aid and Shelter Box, We have supported these in the past. They do get the aid to the point of need, are Rotary connected charities and have a good record on expenses. We will support these charities this year.

The David School, in Sierra Leone. We have supported this over the years, but this year we would like to try something different. During the Ebola outbreak it was stressed that one way of counteracting it was regular washing and we did send, in conjunction with Tesco, 600 bars of soap. I would like to expand this, involving all the super                markets and some soap manufacturers. It may be necessary to have some funds to seed the project, i. e. match the donors.

Funding for Shelter box from outside sources

In the past we have been successful in raising money from schools and other organisationsfor Shelter Box by Rotarians Janet and Keith giving presentations. We intend to start this again.

                Twinning

Rotarian Colin has been tasked by Rotarian Margaret to carry this forward; initially in arranging a return visit to Peterborough by the Dutch Rotary Club of Anna Paulowna. After this, it will be necessary for both parties to consider whether they would like to arrange some sort of link up.

                International emergencies

We recommend that we react to these as and when they arise; consideration being given to magnitude of the disaster and our available resources.
