This is our annual evening with the local Scouts where we award the shield to the most-deserving group in the Northampton District. This year the worthy winners were the 1st Hardingstone Group for the greatest increase in membership - currently 95. from a very low base 5 years ago. 3 of the young people, and 3 leaders - James Jones, Alex and Ben came along together with our friend Steve Graves PHF to be presented with the shield.
For the benefit of non-Rotarians PHF stands for Paul Harris Fellow. Paul Harris was the founder of Rotary (over a hundred years ago). In the UK and Ireland we award fellowships in his name. A PHF is the highest recognition that a club can award. Steve received his for services to Scouting.
