Our Impact Group

The first Rotary Impact Group in the UK

What’s involved in being a member of an Impact Group:

Impact is intended for people who would like to give service to the community locally and internationally but for whom the traditional format of a Rotary Club has not appealed or not been practical.

How might it look to a member?

Will I be able to participate in projects locally and internationally, to help or raise funding for those less fortunate than  myself?

YES

Will I be part of a group of like minded people with whom I can socialise, network and generally have a good time?

YES

Will that group of people meet regularly, and will I be committing to attend if I join?

There is no attendance commitment. The group are currently meeting at one another’s homes, once a month in the evening. However, you can pick and choose your level of involvement as suits your circumstances.

Will I become a Rotarian?

YES.

All members of the Impact Group become full members of The Rotary Club of St Neots with all the benefits of local, national and international fellowship. You will also be eligible to attend conferences and visit other clubs. You will not be required to attend Rotary Club of St Neots (the Legacy Club) meetings but would always be welcomed. The Legacy Club and the Impact Group will be run differently but will have common goals and encourage opportunities to work together.

What sort of things will the Impact club get involved with?

For example: Internationally, Rotary is committed to the eradication of Polio; nationally, there has been a recent partnership launched with Bipolar UK and, locally,  The Rotary Club of St Neots has launched a scheme to support young people taking a gap year to do work in the community. However, the Impact Group’s involvement will be decided by its members. In addition, the Group will arrange networking, fun and social events to help build a sense of camaraderie and fellowship within the membership.

Who is membership open to?

Rotary fully supports diversity in all forms. We would be delighted to receive applications for membership from all genders, faiths and ethnicities.

How is the Impact Group run or managed?

It has its own management group which will conform with a traditional Rotary council where members may elect to take responsibility for certain aspects of the running of the group. The Chairman of the Impact Group will also sit on the Council of the Legacy Club to ensure communications are strong between the two groups.
