A Club Project to bring Books into Children's Homes and to inspire a love of reading.
The Rotary Club of St Ives is delighted to announce the success of its Books 4 Home community project, with 500 books collected ready to be distributed to local primary schools.
The project was launched to encourage a love of reading and help ensure that children have access to books in their own homes. Research consistently shows that having books at home can improve literacy, boost confidence, support emotional wellbeing, and help children develop a lifelong enjoyment of reading.
The books will now be distributed through local schools, where staff will identify children and families who will benefit most. By placing books directly into homes, the project aims to create opportunities for children to read for pleasure, share stories with their families, and develop essential literacy skills.
