From June to November, we provided 40 vouchers for families across Huntingdonshire to buy brand-new winter coats for their children – ensuring dignity and choice for families, allowing children to pick styles and sizes that suit them.
Through generous donations and community support, the campaign has made a real difference to local families struggling with the rising cost of living. Schools, health visitors, and community organisations helped identify children in need, while maintaining their privacy and dignity as well as supporting their physical and emotional well-being.
Christine Luckham Chairman of Dreamdrops and a member of the Rotary Club of St Ives said: “It’s always heart-warming to see how our community comes together to support local families. A warm coat can make a huge difference to a child’s comfort, confidence, and wellbeing throughout the colder months.”
The Rotary Club of St Ives President added: “We are proud to work in partnership with Dreamdrops on this important initiative. Every contribution - large or small - has helped ensure that children stay warm this winter.”
This year’s campaign once again highlighted the value of partnership between local charities, businesses, and service organisations. Both Dreamdrops and the Rotary Club extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported the project through donations, referrals, or spreading the word.
Together, we’ve helped keep children warm, cared for, and ready to face the winter ahead.
