The President of St Ives Rotary Club, Rotarian Sally Heffer Miller, presented the cheque of E1,100 to the Acorn Chairman, Simon Townsend, at the Acorn Group's St Ives meeting on February 21.
The funding comes just after the group celebrated its 25th anniversary. Simon Townsend said: "The group was set up to try and help fill a gap that existed in the NHS services.
"I believe that this is still the case many years later."
Acorn Support fills a gap by providing support to cancer sufferers and their carers in between medical treatments. The weekly group meetings allow sufferers, and their carers, to make new friends who share the same sort of issues. The social events, and meetings, help people to live with cancer.
