Shoeboxes to Moldova

Every November the Club takes part in the "Shoeboxes to Moldova" Christmas Appeal. Moldova is the poorest country in Europe and many people live in poverty. The shoeboxes are filled with "goodies" for the Moldovans of all ages.

Gathering the Shoeboxes for shipping to Moldova

This year, with the support of St Ivo Academy, Thorndown Primary School and other generous local groups, we filled 219 shoeboxes, packed with useful items for the poor of Moldova.  The very kind people who donated a box labelled it with the age range (if a child) or adult, and the items were a mix of toiletries, warm hats, gloves and socks, tee shirts and other useful gifts.   Moldova may be the poorest country in Europe, but it is now hosting many Ukrainian refugees, as they share a border with Ukraine.
