‘STROKE AWARENESS’ DAY
SATURDAY, 13TH APRIL
WESTON FAVELL CENTRE
________________________________________________________________
We arranged for a space outside the exit from the Tesco store from 9.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. in order to highlight the symptoms of a stroke, and encourage shoppers to take a leaflet and perhaps stop briefly for a blood pressure test carried out by medical professionals.
This was a joint effort with Northampton West Rotary Club and a considerable number of shoppers had their blood pressure checked. Most were fine, but one lady was advised to go to A & E immediately and a number of people were advised to see their GP, which justified the effort and made it a very successful operation.
