(aka Treasure Hunt)
Tuesday 23rd August.
We will start and finish at the “White Horse” in Old. It is pie night, so we can have pie (meat or veg) and a pint, or glass of wine, for £10.95. Other options are available. If the weather is good we shall be outside on the deck, otherwise in the upstairs room.
We will be starting at around 6.30. It will not be arduous, and there will be prizes awarded to successful cars, so if you would like to participate please sign up on the interactive board on the Members Welcome page.

30 members and guests turned out on a beautiful sunny evening to join in a leisurely evening drive through the countryside. The challenge was to find 57 clues whilst following a circular route from the White Horse in Old.
Couples risked divorce, friends risked failed relationships, Andrew and Denise decided a drink before starting was a good idea. But nine cars set off in two different directions – a feat achieved with remarkable ease by usually difficult Rotarians – and all found their way back in time for a pie supper. So far as is known, none were accosted by irate locals fed up with itinerant Rotarians seeking a greyhound, Pekinese (or were they King Charles Spaniels) and the Old Fox.
The standard mileage for the route was 23.1 miles but one car managed it in 22 miles (so we cannot even trust Rotarians now!) and one careered all over Northamptonshire to clock up 29 miles. Fortunately there was no need for a tiebreak on the distance travelled as there was a clear winner (by ½ point) in the team called “When Harry Met Fudge”. This party included Alan & Shirley Jukes and their two friends, one of whom turned out to be a former postman in Harrington – that made the clues in that village a bit easier!! Second place went to the “Three Foresters” (I don’t know why either!)* comprising John Evitt, Aileen and Steve. Despite furious complaints about pedantry and an attempted bribe from a former banker, the result stands so well done Fudge, whoever he or she may be!
