On Friday 17th September some 120 overseas students from the University of Northampton attended a Reception hosted by The Rotary Club of Northampton in the presence of the Worshipful Mayor of Northampton Councillor Marianne Taylor and her consort Michael Taylor.
This is an annual event aimed at welcoming students to our great town and as an introduction to Rotaract which is a junior branch of Rotary International. The students who attended come from over forty countries and the meeting felt like a mini United Nations.
The Mayor gave an excellent welcome address and expressed the hope that the students would enjoy their studies and take advantage of the many attractions of Northampton. This was followed by a most interesting tour of the Guildhall including the dungeons, and concluded with a most stimulating "question and answer session" in the Council Chamber
