A very colourful Pritti shared her creation of Creating Memories Charity which she started in 2018 and is now the only full-time employee of. She explained how the charity works with hospices who provide support for children with life limiting conditions or are terminally ill.
The idea came to her when she started writing to a lady who was terminally ill – she sent a handwritten letter to this person every day until they passed away. The nurses looking after their patient relayed how important this daily letter became.
Pritti creates memories for children which cannot be bought, and which bring joy and amazement. For instance, she arranged for terminally ill Olivia to meet not only her F1 hero George Russell, but George brought along Lewis Hamilton! She also arranged for Shay, who was losing his sight to meet top chef Christopher Novelli and Joel Robuchon who had a muscle wasting problem to meet his Superhero Spiderman, Tom Holland.
Pritti went on to explain how it was all about connecting with people who knew other people and then being very persuasive to bring the Memories to fruition.
A powerful and inspirational talk which left the membership with much food for thought. Rtn Rex
