Laura Backhurst gave an engaging talk on her experieinces qualifying as a professional musician, However, she extols the benefits of music, from playing an instrument, sinigng in a choir or simply listening. As a professional musician and music teacher she has exstensive musical repertoire. Apart from her professional music teaching work, she also leads a local Community Choir at Thurleigh, The Every Voice Choir, which rehearses at St Peters Church in Thurleigh and new members are always welcome
Laura mainains that music has many benefits and presented some case studies, examples of people with little or no musical kmowledge, who had benefited greatly from joining a choir. She mainatins that music is the original mood--altering, non-fattening wonder drug that everyone should take
