Roy Boness visited the Club and gave a talk about Nordic Walking. He explained that he started Nordic Walking in 2014 after a minor knee operations. He quickly became a Walk Leader and then Instructor. Roy explained the origin of Nord Walking and its positive effect on posture, fitness and wellbeing.
Ron provided an in-depth explanation of the appropriate footwear and attire for optimising the Nordic walking experience. He also discussed the necessity of selecting suitable gloves and offered a comprehensive analysis of Nord poles, emphasising the importance of adjusting them to the correct height.
He then gave a demonstration of the right way to Nord Walk. He invited members to try it out and David Fletcher, somewhat reluctantly, gave an unconvincing display of applying the technique!
An enjoyable and informative evening. Members are encouraged to contact Roy if they wanted to learn more or take up this form of walking
