Peter McCormack is a successful Bitcoin commentator and entrepreneur. He is a Bedford boy, educated at Bedford Modern School who always had a childhood dream of owning a football club. He explained that having been rebuffed in his approach to join forces with Bedford Town Football club (BTFC) he has a vision, plan and ambition for his team REAL Bedford, to secure a place in the Football League within the next 8 years. He has secured investments of several million pounds from Bitcoin investors and ‘friends’ to help fund and realise this ambition.
Both the Men and Ladies teams have been enjoying success, winning their leagues and earning promotion in successive seasons. Real Bedford have now launched a Football Academy which is attracting interest and participation from large numbers of local youngsters. Much of the promotion of the club is aimed at” Putting Bedford on the Map” and increasing awareness of its attractiveness to businesses and families (town river and embankment, local amenities, private education offerings etc). Commercially they are going from strength to strength, particularly the sale of Real Bitcoin Bedford replica shirts.
The investment money is also being used to provide sponsorship to young aspiring athletes and sports people, local to Bedford, who are being supported with the purchase of bespoke equipment or coaching to help them reach their potential in their chosen sport.
Pete explained that this positive, ambitious and high reaching enterprise is under threat as the Mayor and Executives at BTFC are not prepared to extend the forward lease on their ground facilities for a sufficient length of time to allow Real Bedford to identify and establish the additional facilities required as they progress to the higher levels in the football league structure,
Pete advised that the Football Association has recognised Real Bedford as the fastest growing football club in the South of England whose ongoing development can only bring benefit to the town of Bedford. All this will be lost, he said, if the impasse with the Mayor on their ground lease cannot be resolved.
