Kirsty Cook C.E.O. of the The Kings Arms Project gave an insight to the projects current activities' and it's plans for the future

President Charles and Kirsty Cook CEO of the Kings Arms Project

In front of a very select audience our speaker was welcomed.. Kirstie Cook has been CEO of King’s Arms Project since January 2021, having been a Trustee for 11 years before that. She remembers her mother saying one severe weather night ‘I hope no one is sleeping under a hedge tonight’. She has developed a real passion to help the rough sleepers and homeless people in the community, those who are excluded and almost form an underclass in society. The King’s Arms Project provides a safety net by offering accommodation and support to these people. There are several properties in and around Bedford which have been set up to offer night shelter and food at no cost. She has spent 15 years in the criminal justice system, training as a probation officer and has spoken out for the defenceless. She has tackled the root causes of homelessness. In her spare time she enjoys her family and running the odd marathon. She is a West Ham supporter, but this was not held against her!     An eloquently delivered evening and we wish her all the very best for the future.
