Bridging the Gap to Literacy 10th July 2023

Tue, Jul 11th 2023 at 10:30 am - 12:30 pm

Members of the Rotary Club of Bedford Castle together with students and staff from Bedford Academy will be attempting to cross 100 bridges in one day

For this fund raising challenge the Rotary Club of Bedford Castle has joined forces with Bedford Academy with the aim of raising funds for much needed equipment to improve the level of literacy for those students with serious reading and writing difficulties.

There is overwelming evidence that literacy has a significant impact on peoples life chances. A person with low literacy is more likly to have reduced work opportunities. Literacy is a key focus at Bedford Acdemy as it is fundermental to enabling all students to fully access the curriculum.
