Forest of Marston Vale Public Tree Planting

Gentlemen

'Forest of Marston Vale' has organised a public tree planting event on Sunday 4th February 2018 and has requested volunteers from our club.

Free buses will be leaving from the Forest Centre in Marston Moretaine from 11am, and will be taking people to the planting site in Cranfield. Buses will be running throughout the day back to the Forest Centre, so that people can stay as long or as short a time as possible.

A board will be going around next week, however if you would like to volunteer please email me back so that I can put a tick next to your name in advance.

Best regards

Ismail Anilmis (11/1/18)

Update 15/1/18

Gentlemen

I now have a few more details from Jo Roberts (Community Engagement Officer, Forest of Marston Moretaine):

The details I have are as follows;
Buses from the Forest Centre in Marston Moretaine (MK43 0PR for SatNav purposes) will be departing regularly to take people to the planting site in Cranfield. The first bus will leave at 11am, and the last bus back to the Centre will leave the planting site at around 3pm.
People attending will need to wrap up warm, and I would suggest they check the weather before they leave. Last year we had snow, sleet and very cold winds, so people didn’t stay too long!
If your members do get cold, buses back to the Forest Centre will be leaving the site every 10 minutes or so, so nobody will be stuck there (and we have a marquee and a stand selling hot drinks, so there will be shelter available).
All of the trees and spades will be available at the site, so people just arrive from the bus stop, and are given a demonstration of how to plant the trees properly.

Best regards

Ismail Anilmis
