Windsor Rotary Weekend – September 2015
I thought it was now time to give you a few more details about the Rotary weekend planned for 11/13 September at the Runnymede Thames Hotel, half a mile from junction 13 of the M25. With a spa and swimming pool, the hotel is located on the banks of the Thames with riverside walks and all reception rooms and most bedrooms having a river view.
Ingrid and I have various suggestions for the weekend and have arranged a private guide for Windsor Castle with an optional return to the hotel by boat. Savill Gardens, the formal garden of the Crown Estate at Windsor, are close by, as are the Magna Carta, Kennedy and Air Force Memorials. Historic Great Fosters in nearby Egham was Henry VIII’s Hunting Lodge and would be a special venue for lunch or dinner one day. Walks around Virginia Water and in Windsor Great Park will be arranged for the Friday afternoon and Sunday morning respectively for those who want to take advantage of the surrounding area. For golfers, Wentworth, Berkshire and Sunningdale are on the doorstep!
Rooms at the hotel have been reserved on a Bed & Breakfast basis on Friday night and Dinner, Bed & Breakfast on Saturday night, with the formal dinner taking place in the Riverside Room. The various room prices are set out below and to obtain these preferential rates on tel. 01784 220600 you need to quote Bedford Castle Rotary (reservation no. R01109) and book by latest 31 July 2015.
We both hope you will all be able to join us.
Regards
Michael
