The Achievements of Meriden Rotary Club

During the last 20 years the Rotary Club of Meriden has held many fund-raising events, Motorcycle Megarides, Jazz on the Lawn, Santa Fun Runs, Speaker Events, Charity Dinners, Barbeques, Santa Sleigh Collections, Burns Suppers, Golf Days, Quizzes, Duck Races, Video Horse Races, Frog Races, Auctions, Tin Shakes and many more. A review of the money raised has been carried out and brief notes of the main charity donations that have been made are listed below. The club was chartered in 1979 and for many years all records were kept on paper, but unfortunately early records were lost in the late 1990s. During the first 20 years of the club’s life many fund-raising events were also held, a caravan raffle, multiple events to raise money to provide a minibus for a disabled charity in Meriden, the Motorcycle Megaride started, Annual Barbeques, Half Marathons at Stoneleigh Park and numerous smaller events for which we no longer have income or donation figures.
