2026 Golf Day Report

Monday 18th May saw our annual Golf Day take place at Maxstoke Park Golf Club. This is a very well-kept course that is great to play on. For many years this event has raised the funds needed to send over 100 children with special needs from Woodlands School in Coleshill on a great day out. As you may know Drayton Manor used to be the destination but two years ago it was changed to Twycross Zoo and it is one of the highlights of the school year.

We had 20 teams of four lined up for a shotgun start at 2.00pm. This year the weather was not as kind to us as it usually has been, but everyone enjoyed their golf which was followed by an excellent meal in the clubhouse. Before the meal started the presentations took place, including the presentation of a new trophy to the winning team. This was followed by an auction of 4 ball games and golf equipment that was all very well supported. This year the event raised just over £1800 after the costs had been paid.

We would like to thank all those involved in organising the event, particularly Roger for all the hard work that he puts in arranging for everything to run so smoothly on the day. We also want to thank Maxstoke Park Golf Club and it’s members for allowing us to use their excellent facilities and their wonderful staff for looking after everybody on the day.

The event will take place again next year at the same venue to support the same great cause, so make a note in your diary, Monday 17th May2027 with a shotgun start at 1.00pm.
