The plants on the banks include: Hogweed, Goosegrass (or Cleavers). Greater Stitchwort, Ransoms (Wild Garlic), Bluebells, Lesser Celandines and Red Campion.
The Manx name of the Red Campion is ‘Blaa ny Ferishyn’, which means ‘Fairy Flower’ and therefore to pick it is supposed to be unlucky.
