Young Photographer of Mann Competition 2023

Nine brilliant young photographers aged between 11 and 18 received a total of £800 prize-money at the Falcon’s Nest Hotel in Port Erin on 26 October 2023.

Gallant Rotarians helped the hoards of Christmas Eve shoppers pack their shopping bags in return for a small charitable donation. In total over £1100 was donated by the generous shoppers in Port Erin.

To mark Rotary Day on 23rd February 2024, members had soup and pancakes instead of their usual weekly meal. This raised a surplus of £400 which has been donated to the Rotary Foundation Charity's End Polio Now initiative to eradicate polio worldwide

Art In the Garden Raises fund for John Nicholson Foundation - June 2018

A GARDEN OPEN DAY raised funds for The John Nicholson Foundation. This is an ‘arts-related’ charity (of the Rotary Club of Rushen and Western Mann). The Garden Open Day was held at the home of Rotarian Mike Ingram in Surby.

Outside Visit to Hood Ram Brewery - July 2018

34 members and their guests enjoyed an entertaining visit to the Hood Ram Brewery in Douglas. Founder Rob Storey described the brewing process and the growth of the brewery since it was founded in 2013.

47th World Tin Bath Championships - Rotary helps out

Members helped the Castletown Ale Drinkers Society by manning the entrance gates at 47th World Tin Bath Championships on 1st September 2018. A large crowd helped to raise over £5380 for good causes and charity.

Murder Mystery Evening - April 2018

The club held a successful murder mystery evening at Port St Mary Town Hall on 21st April 2018. The event raised £1200 for Rotary supported Charities.

On Christmas Eve 2017, members of the Rotary Club of Rushen & Western Mann undertook a charity bag pack at the local supermarket - Shoprite in Port Erin. £1,223 was raised for Rotary supported charities.

Rotary District 1285 Summer Camp Students

On Friday 21st July, 14 students from a variety of countries including Poland, Portugal, Spain, Macau, Croatia, Germany, Netherlands and Romania visited the Isle of Man for the weekend as part of Rotary District 1285 Summer Camp 2017.

Children in their final year at primary school are being given dictionaries.The Isle of Man Rotary Clubs, working with the Isle of Man Government, is offering dictionaries to all Year 6 pupils at island primary schools for the next three years.

Return of Giant Minions to Isle of Man Field raises £3,260 for Charity

In Autumn 2015, a field full of giant Minions has helped to raise more than £2,360 to help Isle of Man newborns at the Special Care Baby Unit at the Island's Noble's Hospital, and £900 for the Children's Ward at Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool.

2015 Nepal Earthquake - £1,220 raised in Port Erin street collections

On 9th May 2015, a street collection was held in Port Erin and at Port Erin Railway Station to raise funds to send ShelterBoxes to Nepal after the recent earthquake. Over £1,220 was raised thanks to the generosity of local residents and visitors.

End Polio Now Campaign

Rotary, along with our partners, has reduced polio cases by 99% worldwide since our first project to vaccinate children in the Philippines in 1979.

Stroke Awareness

For a number of years the Club has been actively supporting work to raise Stroke Awareness. It has help to organise and run drop in sessions where members of the public can have their blood pressure tested and receive free advice.
