UNUSED MEDICAL EQUIPMENT
We are collecting again!
There is so much unused medical equipment stored in back rooms, lofts, garages etc. which is either no longer used, or which cannot be returned to the NHS in our region, and, as you have probably gathered from our website, we hate waste! Earlier in the year we advertised for unused medical equipment, crutches, wheelchairs, walking aids etc. to be dropped off at Upton Community Centre and what a response we had!
This was all donated to PhysioNet, a UK charity that repurposes and sends medical equipment abroad, most recently to Ukraine, to help those who don't have access, or the means to get items like this!

This was a trial project and we had no idea how much equipment was out there, but it seems there is quite a lot and so we hope to make a difference to the lives of others by collecting as much as we can.
This will also help to keep items from going to landfill and helps our environment!
So THANK YOU to those who donated.
We would also like to thank HBC's Upton Community Centre for allowing us a collection space and
the Widnes Vikings Foundation who store the items until they are collected by Physionet.
