About us

Widnes Rotary was first "Chartered" on 24th September 1937, not long after the creation of Rotary by it's founder, Paul Harris, in Chicago in 1905.  We continue into our 87th year with 25 like-minded men and women who try and make a difference in both our local community and abroad.

We'd love you to join us, either as a member or as a 'Friend of Rotary', helping us to continue our projects or give us ideas for new ones.  It would give you a chance to make new friends too!

Many know us for the Christmas Float which has been going around the Widnes Streets since 1960, raising thousands of pounds for our local community.  Our 2023 float raised an amazing £20,333, thanks to the generosity of the Widnes public and local businesses and we couldn't have done this without the many volunteers who help us collect!
This money is donated to the local community and details can be found under 'What We Do'.

We are not just for Christmas though!  We meet once a fortnight and enjoy many other events, some are fundraisers like our Gala Dinner and Wine Tasting Evening, but in the main we want to help others,
following Rotary's motto 'Service above Self'.

Rotary is a volunteer organisation, one of the largest in the world, with 1.4 million members so for more information, just send an email to:- widnesrotary@gmail.com

Thank You!
