Thank You and Donation Evening - Widnes Cricket Club

Mon, Feb 19th 2024 at 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm

A wonderful gathering to say thank you to all those who helped us with the float and to make donations from the £20,333 collected from the Widnes public and local businesses! Click details for photos of the evening and more info!

The Christmas Float, which has been going for over 60 years, takes a lot of work to organise each year and every piece of the 'jigsaw' requires help from a great many people.

This includes:-

Hough Green Garage who lend us a vehicle to take the float around Widnes.
JET Engineering who provide a forklift truck to lift the float onto the vehicle.
Bristol Street Motors who provided fuel .
Ben Karalius, WMR Widnes, staff and family who drive for us each night.
Lloyd Pennington who provides valuable advice and help to make sure our music and speakers work properly.
Asda Widnes, for allowing us to bring our float and collect outside over a couple of weekends.

Our volunteer groups from:

Halton Farnworth Hornets Rugby
Eclipse Street Dance Cheer
Widnes Fire Cadets
Ashley High School staff
Aquila Explorer Scouts
Morbaine staff
Widnes Cricket Club
Ladies
St Ambrose Church members
The Studio, Duke of Edinburgh students
Widnes Football Club Junior parents and coaches

together with all the individual volunteers, including Keiron Gordon, Keith Woodward, Sam Paul, Karen Woodcock, Dave and Les Green, Ian Kemp, Andy Morris, Caroline Harper and many many more !

Thanks also go to the many local businesses who sponsored the float, adding to our wonderful total!
