On Thursday 11th May 2023 President Brian Johnson took the meeting as he welcomed 23 to this our lunch time meeting held at the Gilvenbank Hotel, Glenrothes.
President Brian introduced the clubs AGM where the following was agreed.
RIBI and District Fees were rising by £14, our membership fees would remain the same as last year.
The Office bearers for the next Presidential Year from 1st July 2023 will be, President Scott Galloway, SVP and JVP to be advised, Secretary Anne Sampson, Treasurer Geoff Sampson, Environment David Cooper, Foundation Doreen Gray, Community Wilna Roger, Fund Raising Iain Haywood, Budget Control Walter Fletcher, Examiner of accounts Jim Boyd, District Reps Scott Galloway and Brian Johnson, Attendance Officer Kay Johnson.
President Brian advised that the Coronation Party hosted at his house attended by 28 people was great fun and the sun shone for us. Good Food, games organised by Linda Ballingall and Quiz by Eoin Robertson highlights of the day.
Brian spoke about the district conference at the Dewar Centre in Perth on the weekend of the 9-10th June which he and Kay would be attending and he encouraged members to attend. He also mentioned club Jerseys and where best to purchase them from.
Anne Sampson mentioned Shamshad Adams and the Queensferry and Kirkcaldy Rotary Clubs joint Bollywood evening to be held in Inchyre at Falkirk advising ticket costs to see if members would like to attend.
Wilna Roger spoke about the awards evening on the evening of the 25th May 2023 and the format for reception.
Doreen Gray mentioned that we had applied for a District Grant to enable us to further support John Fergus School where we were looking to purchase an Aluminium Shed.
The Markinch Highland games was discussed and agreed we would take a pitch to promote Rotary. Which took us on to talking about the purchase of a substantial Gazebo and costs.
We were advised that former member and local business man John Ferris had died recently, our thoughts are with his family.
David Cooper mentioned the Rotary planter and that the plants would be ready in about a months time. He also advised he had been successful in applying for a Grant for £220 to enable us to plant down at the grounds beside Auchmuty High School.
This week Thursday 18th May 2023 is a lunch time meeting arrival by 12.45pm commencing at 12.55pm where our speaker will be Kirk Donnelly, Community inspector, on community policing, Rose Duncan will be giving the Rotary vote of thanks.
