On Thursday 26th January 2023 President Brian Johnson, took the meeting as he welcomed 60 Rotarians and guests to this our annual Burns Supper held at the Gilvenbank Hotel, Glenrothes.

The evening which had been organised by Rotarians Wilna Roger and Anne Sampson was a great success, with fantastic recitals. The evening got underway with a rousing performance from Conner Pratt and the Black Watch cadets’ pipes and drums. Jean Haughey said the Selkirk Grace  and then the Haggis was piped in by Conner Pratt, the combined Poosie Nancy of Anne Sampson and Kimberley Galloway, chef Steff and Iain Oates. The address to the haggis was given by Iain Oates. After the meal the wheel of fortune was spun and then followed by John Gilfillan SVP from the Rotary Club of Cowdenbeath who gave the toast to the Immortal Memory. Sadly, Linda Ballingall was unable to sing, and her friend Carol-Anne Hadley sang for her at short notice. Gil Stevenson gave an amazing recital of Tam O’Shanter. The toast to the lassies was given by Derek Stahly and the reply from the Lassies given by Linda Ballingall.

The Rotary vote of thanks was given by SVP Scott Galloway.

The evening rounded off with Auld Lang Syne accompanied by piper Conner Pratt,
