Lunch time meeting - 12.55pm - Fellowship

.

On Thursday 15th December 2022 President Brian Johnson, took the meeting as he welcomed 16 club Rotarians to this lunch time meeting held at the Gilvenbank Hotel, Glenrothes.

Last week Rotarian Wilna Roger had been invited along by Auchmuty High School to be a judge for the S5 Christmas cakes competition where she said the quality was outstanding but sadly there was no tasting. She was judging on the quality of icing and finish.

Having sent out flyers on social media and to neighbours in our community asking for support in our Christmas appeal, Rotarians brought along all the donations to the hotel today. We had our meal and then sorted out the donations evenly between the groups whom we had decided to support this year Leslie Community Pantry, Colly Café, Collydean, Glenrothes and Community Sport and Health Hub at Gilvenbank, and CAREA, Woodside. President Brian Johnson and his wife Kay, Wilna Roger, Jean Haughey and Geoff and Anne Sampson took the donations to those groups. Many thanks to everybody who has supported us financially or by means of donations to enable us to support others in our community.

Having seen an appeal from the Glenrothes Foodbank during last week asking for donations of Yule Logs, Geoff Sampson on behalf of the club purchased £100 worth and took them to the Foodbank

Next week 22nd December 2022 will be our Christmas lunch time meeting at the Gilvenbank Hotel meeting by 12.15pm and commencing at 12.30pm prompt. With club business and fellowship,

On Sunday Geoff Sampson again supported Love Oliver for 4 hours as he was the resident Santa in the Grotto at Glenrothes Town Centre as this time 76 families came along for some festive cheer.  On the Monday night he will be supporting Brighter Futures Health Hub at Pitcairn as Santa from 5-6pm.

If you were interested in supporting the community and international projects get in touch by Private message on The Rotary Club of Glenrothes Facebook page. You will be made most welcome.
