Our speaker this week was Rose Duncan of the Brighter Futures Group unfortunately Bernadette (Berni) Brown, Pharmacist from Cadham shopping centre was unable to attend. Rose spoke about the creation of the group, she got to know Berni at the end of March 2020 during COVID when she had repurposed the Collydean community Centre as a Crisis COVID centre, where Rose was involved with Befriending, delivering food parcels to the community. Berni had mentioned that health visits to many of these people should be a priority as many people were identified as notes of concern. It took the organisation 3 months to get charity status. As the organisation has at the moment no base, they had to be peripatetic, travelling from place to place, in particular working or based in various places for relatively short periods, to meet the needs of the people. They are now trying to introduce differing services to the community offering health bonds to make the services affordable to many. Their charitable purpose amongst a few were for social prescribing, advancement of health and improving conditions of life. The group have been supporting Bield housing at Inchkeith court,President
Brian gave the Rotary Vote of Thanks.
