Scots Poetry Competition 2022

Scots Poetry Competition 2022 Primary School

Scots Poetry Competition

This year we ran our Scots Poetry competition. However due to ongong covid restrictions we were unable to physically go into any of the schools. The Schools however ran and judged their own competitions and  sent video links of their winners to our club.  We then judged the 4 winners and Rosie Daly from Markinch Primary School was our overall winner with her recitation of the poem "Kirkcaldy". We had the pleasure of presenting the Ian Chalmers Quaich to Rosie when she joined us at our meeting at Gilvenbank with teacher Miss Gilfillan . Ian Chalmers' daughter Vicki Chalmers joined us on Zoom from Tenerife to see the presentation. Rosie also recited her winning entry "Kirkcaldy". Well done Rosie brilliant performance. Thanks also to Rotarian Iain Oates for organising the competition. Entries came from Markinch PS, South Parks PS, Pitcoudie PS and Rimbleton PS - thanks and well done to all who entered.
