On Thursday the 28th of April 2022 President Brian Johnson welcomed 17 Club Rotarians to this evening meeting held at the Gilvenbank Hotel.
Two apologies for nonattendance were received.
David Cooper had spoken about plants for the planter at Riverside Park and he was to go ahead and order them up.
Secretary Anne Sampson spoke about the district conference to be held on Saturday 18th June 2022 with a dinner at night with speaker being Incoming 2023-2024 RI President elect Gordon McInally. On the Friday a talk will be given about the Jack Vettriano collection all in the Rothes Halls. Anne also mentioned about the afternoon Comedy brunch being organised by Iain Haywood on Sunday 29th May 2022 from 1-5pm Cost £30. For tickets please contact Iain Haywood ph 07969 619152,
Geoff Sampson gave an update on the Ukrainian collection. Our local contact Paddy Reilly from Denside Removals had mentioned he will be stepping up the cry for help as he could not understand why things have dried up. We had taken in goods from ASDA and spoken with their community champion about further collections. Some goods had been coming in and were now boxed and ready to go. He also mentioned the financial support we had received £379.51 from Glenwood High School which has been forwarded to the disaster appeal and after a birthday fundraiser by Chantal Mrimi which had raised £388.75 we had received a letter of thanks from Aquabox for the purchase of filters.
Wilna Roger briefly mentioned the Awards evening.
Will Wishart mentioned Kids out normally held in June pre pandemic, after speaking with John Fergus school we would not look at organising this until possibly September.
We were looking to organise an event in Walter Fletchers Garden for the Queens Jubilee on 5th June 2022.
Kay Johnson had advised she was happy to organise a Past Presidents dinner, which we have not held since before the Pandemic struck.
Jennifer Jones incoming Rotary International President is looking to come to Fife on Wednesday 11th May 2022.
Having previously discussed Rota Kids with Primary Schools Scott Galloway and Anne Sampson were looking to speak with Coaltown of Balgonie and South Parks Primary Schools have shown interest in participating.
This coming week Thursday 5th May 2022 is a lunch time Hybrid meeting to be held at the Gilvenbank Hotel commencing at 1.00pm prompt which will be a business meeting which will include our AGM. To receive annual written reports from the committees for the current year • To receive details of the General Budget for the succeeding year and agree the Annual Subscription • To confirm the Office bearers appointed at the SGM • To Elect the members of Council for the succeeding year • Electing any honorary members. • Appointing a person or persons to examine the club’s annual accounts. • Electing one representative (and substitute) of the club on the district council, and one additional representative (and substitute) for every 25 or major fraction thereof of its active members.
