On Monday Geoff and Anne Sampson met Ukrainian couple Nicolai and Tatyana and their lovely 3 children. The family were keen to help our appeal and they quickly packed items received the previous week from South Parks Primary School. The family had arrived the previous weekend from Ukraine, having taken a week to get to Scotland to stay with his sister Natalya and husband Tim who have been helping in sorting and boxing goods. The family had endured tragic losses on route, as a convoy of 12 cars were attacked with 6 being wiped out by land mines and hit by tank fire.
After receiving a talk the previous week from the RNLI we hoped to be able to offer financial support to RNLI but hope that other clubs can also be involved.
Our Citizen of the Year was also spoken about.
Scott Galloway would take the chair for the next two meetings.
A request for funding had been received which is under consideration.
Secretary Anne Sampson gave the members present an insight into the workings of the Rotary website and how to manoeuvre around the various linked pages.
