Evening meeting - Gilvenbank Hotel - Burns Night

On Thursday 27th January 2022 President Brian Johnson. welcomed 18 Club Rotarians and15 partners of Rotarians to this an evening meeting which was our Burns event held at the Gilvenbank Hotel.

Sadly, we decided to not have a blanket invitation to all and sundry as we limited invitation to our own Rotarians and partners only, to this our Burns night with great Rotarian speakers and entertainers.

The evening was worthy of a larger turn out. Pipe Major Conner Pratt and his Black Watch Pipes and drums cadets.

Aimee Beaton a sixth-year pupil at Auchmuty High School. She dances with the Sarah Hendry School of Dance and competes locally, nationally and Internationally at Championship level. She is the current Northern Ireland Champion and recently won the senior UK and European Highland Scholarships.

Lily Mentiplay a former pupil of Auchmuty HS currently studying at Stirling University to be a paramedic, she is now half way through her first placement at Kirkcaldy ambulance station. While at school she took part in the annual Rotary Young Musician Competition She is currently involved with Fife Opera, sings regularly at care homes and does other gigs when time allows!!!!

Our other speakers, Beverley Cooper, Kimberley Galloway, Iain Oates, Ron Page, David Cooper, Wilna Roger.

Many thanks to the Gilvenbank Hotel staff for their attentive service and Steff the chef for providing an excellent meal,

President Brian Johnson gave the Rotary vote of thanks.

This coming week Thursday 3rd February 2022 is a lunch time meeting with a meal at Gilvenbank Hotel commencing at 1.00pm. Our annual Ian Chalmers Scots Poetry competition will be judged this week with the Rotary vote of thanks which will be given by Iain Oates.
