Lunch time meeting - 1pm Gilvenbank fellowship and business meeting

On Thursday 7th October 2021 President Brian Johnson. took the chair as he welcomed 19 Club Rotarians to our lunch time meeting held at the Gilvenbank Hotel.

There were 5 apologies for nonattendance.

This week was a fellowship meeting at which the reports from the clubs Council were discussed in particular Polio Day which is on 24th October with Chantal Mrimi pursuing us lighting up buildings in the town in Purple.

The environmental projects of planting purple crocuses in conjunction with the High Schools were mentioned and also the sapling tree project with some trees being planted next spring. The cleaning of the mosaic along with David Coopers group FORP was also discussed.

Anne Sampson confirmed that our recent fundraiser which was our vintage afternoon tea held at Studio8 in Glenrothes raised just over £1000 many thanks to everybody who contributed to a wonderful afternoon, in particular Morrison’s store who were a great source of support.

Chantal Mrimi had raised £250 from her birthday fundraiser which she was going to match with the proceeds going towards the purchase of Water Purifiers.

Scott Galloway was going to attend the AGM of Fife Gingerbread and feedback to us.

The Scottish evening at the end of November we were hoping to have a s a musical evening.

The annual Peace Walk will take place on Wednesday evening 10th November 2021 with Rotarians starting off from Auchmuty High School this year.

This coming week Thursday 14th October at 1pm will be a ZOOM meeting with our speaker being Colin Ince who will be speaking about the Rotary Shoebox scheme. Geoff Sampson will be giving the Rotary Vote of thanks.
