Cycling from Duffus to Istanbul

Our speakers this week were Mark and Fiona Houliston who completed an epic cycle from their home in Duffus to Istanbul.
Their adventure commenced at the end of April 2023, involved 67 days in the saddle, a distance of 5450 kilometers, pedaling through 15 countries, on a route which included Edinburgh, Newcastle, ferry to Amsterdam, following the river Rhine, the Black Forest, the river Danube, North Macedonia to Istanbul, Turkey arriving on 9th July.
Most of the cycling in Europe was on designated cycle routes but dogs chasing them on their bikes was a bit of a problem!
Mark and Fiona found the people they encountered during the trip very welcoming and curious as to where they had cycled from!
