Erskine Veterans Charity

Michael is the Fundraising and Development Manager (North Scotland) Erskine Veterans Charity. He has responsibility for the area which covers from Perthshire north to the Shetland Isles.
The first Erskine Hospital was opened in October 1916 during the First World War. The charity now supports almost 1000 veterans each year. Michael gave an insight in to the facilities on offer at the Erskine Veterans Village and Erskine Edinburgh.
All ranks of service personnel, retired and serving are eligible for support from the charity including a spouse, widow or widower. In 2019 it was estimated that 4700 veterans live in Moray with 16% of the population in the District being made up of service personnel, veterans and their dependents.
Michael gave a run down on the facilities which will be on offer at the Erskine Veterans Activity centre (EVAC) which is being established at the old Victoria Hotel, Forres and explained many of the benefits which will stem from it.
