President Michelle and members gave a warm welcome to District Governor Jim Hatter and his wife Stella, at this week’s meeting.
Jim is in post for one year and one of his priorities has been to take time out to visit clubs in the district to learn more about their activities and to hear and see first hand how they are living up to this year’s vision “Create Hope in the World”.
Jim spoke passionately about his views on the future of Rotary and the need for clubs and members to be open to change, stressing it’s what we do in our communities - home and away - that matters. He also took the opportunity to remind members of Nelson Mandela’s famous statement that the youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow and applauded the Club on its links with Rotakids in local primary schools and the recently formed Interact club that meets at Elgin Youth Cafe.
