The weather was dry but overcast and misty early on for this years September Saunter, but ideal walking and running conditions for the entrants. Some of the route near Spennithorne had become a little overgrown but a suitable diversion was sign posted.
We had 125 entrants with 113 people taking part on the day raising around £1500 for local charities and good causes. While this event isnt a race some entrants do run and the first man home was Nigel Copland from Richmond in 1 hour 51 minutes and the first woman was Rosie Jones from Richmond in 2 hours 17 minutes
We were able to use the main hall at Wensleydale School which provides a great base to run the event from. As last year our ladies provided a wonderful spread of sandwiches and cakes that were much appreciated, along with tea/coffee etc.
We would like to thank the RAYNET volunteers who manned the radio communications in the school and at the checkpoints, and all the Rotarians and friends who helped, either in the school or on the course. Thanks also to Rtns Delia Hardcastle, Richard Pennell and Chris Wheatley for the photos. The event has raised over £1,500 for local charities and good causes
The September Saunter isn't intended as a race but for those who would like to know their time you can download a pdf of the times by clicking here
We will be posting more photographs taken around the route over the next few days.

more This first Saunter we have organised was very successful, and received many praises from those taking part
back We were pleased with the increased entry for our second Saunter, particularly how much people enjoyed the route. So the 2024 Saunter will be over the same route.
