James Herriot Country Trail Run 2024 Report

We had a beautiful, warm and sunny day, with only light winds, perfect for watchers and checkpoint staff, but maybe a bit hot for some of the runners!

For those who want to check the results a soon as possible, click on Run 2024 Results. And Team Results

First home was Matthew Cardus from Settle in 56mi 14sec, followed by Rory Woods from Crook, and Durham Fellrunners in 56.53, and Joseph Martlew from Northallerton, and Thirsk & Sowerby Harriers.

First lady home was Katie Smith from Hook in 68.50. Second Lady was Julia Morgan of Ripon, and Ripon Runners in 71.53, and third was Nicola Simpson (a VS) from Leyburn, and Richmond and Zetland Harriers in 74.02.

Many thanks to everyone who volunteered to help make this a success, in particular, Swaledale Road Runners. We have made over £3,000 for local charities and worthy causes.

Thanks also to Tom Orde-Powlett, Richard Spensley & Son, and Stewart Raw for use of their land. Also, Alec Rycroft, of Leyburn Walking Shop, who again donated the prizes.
