Both Walks were started at 9.00am in Grove Square, Leyburn, by Club President Mrs Ray Wilkinson, though walkers first gathered for registration at Wensleydale School. There was a choice of two circular walks, one a 23 mile challenge and a shorter one of 12 miles, both starting and finishing in Leyburn. We had 312 entrants.
The numbers were much lower than in previous years, but then, it has not been a normal one, has it! 312 entered, 179 started and 178 finished. It was interesting to see that a lady, Melissa McGuire, from Morecambe, reached home first on the Short route in 1hr 52min, 3min before Alison Eagle and John Coates, both from Skipton. First home on the Long Run was Paul Ellis from Leeming Bar in 3hr 7min, while First lady home on the Long Run was Jess Young from Darlington in 3hr 23min

We would like to thank the RAYNET volunteer radio operators, our wives/husbands who have helped, and of course all walkers and runners for supporting the event, especially this year! We will have raised a significant sum for Yorkshire Air Ambulance, and I will add this when we have counted up.
Finally, thanks to Rtns Dave Muscroft and Chris Wheatley for the photos, and also Doug Binks who took many photos at the Rubbing Houses shown here
