Bury Abbey Rotary Club is a service organisation whose main focus is to help our community, but working together to raise money or doing community work , tends to build strong friendships. We celebrate our fellowship with many and varied social events and outings all of which are paid for by the members ourselves.
Of course raising money becomes a habit and many of our social events make a small profit, and when this happens this is added to our fundraising account to help the good causes we support.
Some of our social events in the recent past have included, Crazy Golf, Burns Night ( also raised some money) trip to the Cinema ( also raised funds for End Polio) Visit to British Sugar Factory. Visit to Kevelaer, Germany, hosting our friends from Tiel in Netherlands, Two Quizzes ( also raise money) Sporting Challenge vs Rotary Club of Ipswich Wolsey, Ghost Walk, Food Tour of Bury St Edmunds, Members Picnic to name but a few.
more Strong links have been developed with our partner Rotary Club in our twin town Kevelaer
more For over 10 years we have forged a strong friendship with the Rotarians of Tiel Waalstreek in the Netherlands
