It was a warm evening with a light breeze on the lake so sailing was brisk but not too brisk to frighten the beginners. Ten young carers with ages from 9 to 13 years were enjoying their second days sailing at Lackford Lake when Bury Abbey Rotary Club hove into view on the horizon armed with BBQs, food and all the trimmings.
The invasion was swift and deadly, with Chinese Ribs, Chicken Thighs, Best Suffolk Sausages and Burgers cooked to perfection and ready to serve as the sailors came off the water. The only hiccup being that when asked for the vegetarian fayre, Colin responded that it is..........................................."****** still in the freezer at home". What a twit!
It was an excellent evening and all the young carer's enjoyed themselves immensely; they probably slept well that night.
