Volunteering is an enjoyable and important aspect of our support to local organisations. It enables us to build stronger relationships with them and provides team building opportunities for our members. On occasions we assist organisations in setting up new events utilising members’ experience gained through their business or professional life and through Rotary.
Recent volunteering examples include:
• Acting as stewards at the St Nicholas Hospice’s annual fireworks evening in the Abbey Gardens and as marshals at one of their fund-raising fun runs.
• Packing parcels at Christmas for a local foodbank charity for distribution in the local community.
• Replanting flower beds around Bury St Edmunds war memorial.
