Incoming President Roy had organised this year's event and had provided a glass of prosecco or orange juice to welcome everyone - thank you Roy. This is an event where wives and partners are welcome and a good catch up was enjoyed by all over a buffet of sandwiches, pies, quiche and chips followed by cream cakes and scones.
Then Roy handed over proceedings to this year's Fellowship leader Tony Emmott who had organised a quiz with the captain of each team made to wear silly hats. John Barrow with his Fireman Sam hat had everybody in stitches with his inability to follow the marking rules. The winners were the Flowerpot Men but nobody on the team would admit to being Little Weed.
Things then got serious as Robert Allan kicked of his new fund raising concept of a sponsored slim with about half the membership agreeing the needed to reduce their waist line. The entrants queued up to be publically weighed and then state their target weight loss. The deadline for achieving the goal is 1st December so that everyone can then put the weight back on over Christmas!
