Speaker Ken Senior on Canals

As Speaker finder Ken Senior was ill John Barrow showed on his behalf an episode from the BBC series "Canals The Making Of A Nation". Visitors Host Grace and Banners John Waterhouse, Cash Desk John Watson


The series is presented by Liz McIvor and highlights how the building of canals gave a start to professional civil engineering. The episode that John showed was number 5 entitled "Engineering". It focused primarily on the Leeds Liverpool canal and other canals that linked Yorkshire and Lancashire. The programme can be viewed on the BBC iPlayer.
