Speaker - RYLA Attendee Darcey Whymark

Darcey was our RYLA candidate for the 2023 course and he told us of his experiences at Hebden Hey. The increase in his confidence was very evident from his presentation. Speaker Finder John Waterhouse.

Darcy told us about his experiences: -

1. Team building & icebreaker 2 group passing a ball, then smaller groups passing a hoola hoop whilst hands joined.
2. Woken up at 6am every day. 1 hour of PT before breakfast.
3. 1st day Mountain rescue seek and bring back on a stretcher. 4 miles each way.
4. Had to build bridge over a pretend river.
5. Then raft building and making a coracle. They won the raft building They broke the team into different parts with somebody leading each task e.g. ropes getting people on raft

5. On bivvy night which was led by D'Arcy it was pouring rain. Plastic sheet & ropes.

Generally it rained a lot all week very was very muddy. His team won more events than anybody else.

Fund Raising

This committee works with the other committees to help them raise funds for their individual projects to support charities locally, nationally and internationally.

Charitable Trust Fund

This is the vehicle that donates the money that we have raised to the various good causes that we support. Its official name is The Rotary Club Of Bradford Blaize Trust Fund and its registered number with the Charity Commission is 514621.

Club Administration

This committee organises social events and deals with the day to day running of the club.

PR, Internet and Other Communications

This committee exists to provide PR and communications between the members and also to provide links to non members through the web site and Facebook.
